Abstract:
The article focuses on the necessity to improve the Russian legal rules, regulations and conditions to improve transport and logistics effectiveness of Russia’s foreign trade. Such an approach will help considerably reduce transport costs of the contract price for the goods involved in foreign trade. The General Conditions of the Nordic Association of Freight Forwarders, which went into effect on 1 January 2016, can serve as an example of possible application of foreign expertise. These General Conditions are applied to international carriage of goods in Denmark, Norway, Finland and Sweden. The article considers in detail and analyses all aspects of European logistics customs in use in the Nordic countries as well as the possibility of their application in Russia’s foreign trade. Specific measures that might serve as a basis for improving Russia’s freight forwarding rules and regulations are proposed.
