Abstract:
The article presents a review of the current state of the world coal market highlighting the recent trends of its development. A comparative analysis of the particular features of the energy policy of the countries of the Atlantic basin and the countries of the Pacific Rim (PR) is carried out. The leading suppliers of coal on the European market and on the Asian markets are defined. The structure and dynamics of international coal trade of Russia is presented. The contradictions and problems faced by Russia in the development of trade in the international markets of coal are revealed. Prospects for export growth of coal from Russia to the European and the Pacific Rim countries are considered.
