Abstract:
The authors identify the importance of the market for international road transport of goods in the transport system of foreign economic relations of Russia. The factors hindering progressive development of this market in 2016 are revealed. The performance indicators of the international road transport market by the export and import directions are presented. Special attention is drawn to the correlation of the Russian segment performance with the results of the national foreign trade in 2016. The features of the international road transport of goods within the EAEU and European destinations are highlighted. The authors provide projections of possible cargo volumes in international road transport in 2017, depending on implementation of the optimistic or pessimistic scenario of the development of the Russian economy and its foreign economic relations. The preconditions for increasing freight transport volumes within the common economic space of the EAEC countries are stated.
