The impact of digital technologies on the Russian economy

Abstract: This article examines the issues and prospects for the introduction of digital technologies into the Russian economy. An assessment of the current state of the economy is given basing on the indicators of network preparedness and global competitiveness. A review of the readiness of Russia to switch to the digital economy is made. Ways to develop sectors of the economy with the use of information technologies on the basis of the accepted strategy of information society development in Russia are suggested. A number of examples illustrating the positive and negative consequences of the intensified use of information technologies in various spheres of the economy are provided.
