Abstract:
This article examines the issues of regulating the digital economy in the EU: the importance of the digital economy in Europe, implementation of the Digital Single Market strategy, solution of the taxation issues for digital companies, protection of personal data and the localization of data storage. The development of digital economy in the EU has its implications: the uneven penetration of digital technologies, the dominant position of US companies in the European digital services market, and BREXIT that will deprive the EU of one of the digital leaders in the digital economy. An analysis of EU cooperation in the digital economy with the US and the Eastern Partnership countries was conducted.
