Abstract:

Factors that influence the country’s competitiveness in terms of travel and tourism, and its position in the ratings of attractiveness for tourists, are considered. The article summarizes the most acute problems related to the tourism growth in Russia, including the low level of tourist infrastructure development, insufficient openness to foreign tourists and security, and tourist services quality. The ways to solve these problems with further qualitative improvement and competitiveness in the global market are proposed.
