Abstract:
The article examines Russia’s relationship with ASEAN countries as one of the new regional centers of power in a multipolar world. ASEAN is a large growing union that is already a decision-maker in the Asia-Pacific region. The statistics of the current stage of bilateral relations are presented; the advantages and limitations of the economic cooperation are described, as well as the export potential of each of the parties. Russia should increase the exports of high value added goods and facilitate successful implementation of the current Russian pilot infrastructure projects. Besides, the author describes the regional integration prospects of Russia, including the creation of a single free trade zone between the EAEU and ASEAN.
