Abstract:
This article summarizes the impact of COVID-19 and the response of investment promotion agencies (IPAs) based on research done by the World Bank Group (WBG), the World Association of Investment Agencies (WAIPA), UNCTAD and the OECD. The economic crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic was unprecedented. The study shows that many APIs moved to work remotely, keeping in close touch with investors and assisting with issues. The paper highlights priorities for investor support, including short- and long-term measures to mitigate the effects of the crisis.
