Abstract:
The paper examines the legal regulation of the status of seaports as elements of coastal infrastructure on the example of the Arctic region. The authors study a number of international conventions regulating the status of ports in terms of defining the scope of this concept; access rights to ports by foreign vessels; implementation of security measures in seaports. It is noted that particular attention is paid to environmental safety of ships at the international level, including the right to enter a seaport. The conclusion is made about the insufficiency of international regulation of the status of ports and the need to deepen cooperation between countries on these issues. This work was carried out within the state assignment of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation (theme No. FEMN-2022-0003).
