Current Trends in the Foreign Trade Policy of the Middle East Countries

Abstract: The article deals with the foreign economic strategies and foreign trade policy of Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Israel, Turkey, Iran. The foreign trade policy of the countries of the Middle East plays an important role in their economic development, since it is significantly dependent on foreign markets. At the same time, such Middle Eastern countries as Egypt, Turkey, Israel and others have already been important foreign trade partners of Russia for many years. Given the reorientation of Russia’s foreign economic relations to the East, the study of strategies and trends in the foreign economic regulation of these countries is of particular interest in terms of strengthening economic cooperation with them. The article highlights such issues as the general orientations and goals of modern foreign economic strategies of the countries under consideration, the features of tariff and non-tariff regulation of foreign trade operations, ways to assist national exporters, regulation of foreign investment; considerable attention is paid to the participation of Middle East countries in regional trade agreements on the free trade area plus.
