Abstract: The article presented a comprehensive study on the place and role of civil society in the overall system information security. The research is based on the analysis of current socio-political experience of Ukraine in terms of military-Information aggression (hybrid war). A new view about the role of non-state institutes in the system of national interests protection in the informative sphere was demonstrated. It is based on the studying of the specific practice of their activity. The focus of scientific analysis are institutions such as public associations, think tanks and the media, which act as strategic government partners in the security sector. Grounded the necessity of attracting private institutions to implement security policy. Listed the main institutions that act as protection of national interests in the information sphere. In addition, systematized ways to improve the functioning of the mechanism of interaction between civil society and public authorities in the context of information security. The study result were formulated comprehensive conclusions.
