Abstract: Summarizing the scope of the EU general conclusion can be made - the inability to inappropriate mechanical drawing and all social institutions, although experience and may, under certain conditions, particularly relevant. Emphasized that particularly complex and crucial in modern terms as for the further successful implementation of the Lisbon strategy, and to develop national regional development strategies is to solve the problem of accelerated transition to innovative development, to formation economy built on knowledge. It is proved that the problem of analysis of the implementation of the Lisbon strategy and its results is not so much to force something, how to learn from foreign experience, as to do right and make timely adjustments in the process of achieving the goals. It was concluded that current trends led to the emergence, formation and more widespread in the practice of regional management of sustainable development. Resistance socio-economic system provides the ability to effectively and efficiently use resources in its development, continuously increasing rates of positive change, without increasing the cost of non-renewable resources or minimizing them according to the ratio of current and future necessities of life. Sustainable development of the region in a changing environment is one of the priority areas of the economy. The level of development, structure, social dynamics are directly dependent on the state of the economy. The recognition of the crucial role of the economy in ensuring social development represents only one side of the dialectical interaction. The economy, as the basis of society itself feels quite significant and sometimes decisive, influence social sphere. Practice leading socially developed countries shows that the stronger the economy is focused on the needs and demands of the people, the stronger becomes their creativity and work motivation, so, therefore, dynamically developing production.
