Philosophical analysis of procreation in the value dimension

Abstract: Scientific discourses recognize the influence of the value factor on human reproduction. Despite this, an objectifying approach prevails in explaining demographic determination and values are seen as subjects isolated from the person. The article proposes development of the axiological approach in understanding procreation. In philosophical and axiological discourse, procreation can be seen as human reproduction in the culture and persona genesis. Basing on the axiological concept of Max Scheler and personalist philosophy of Vasily Rozanov, the author proposes an interpretation of procreation as an intentional value attitude that manifests a positive aspiration of a person for the future.
