The housing Finance System in the European Union. The Outlook for the Convergence

Maria-Celia Penabad

ERES from European Real Estate Society (ERES)

Abstract: Financial markets' globalisation has led to the liberalisation of these markets and the housing finance systems. The EMU creation process has influenced every economy sector in the member states; including the housing sector and its finance. This is the starting point of the present work which has two aims: to analyse the mutual influence of the European integration and the housing systems and to determine the possible convergence of the European mortgage finance systems.
