Uncovering New Trends of Investigation in Written Task Planning

Abstract: Task planning is considered as an influential variable that can impact the performance of both written and spoken tasks. Although planning has been fully investigated in spoken tasks, fewer investigators have paid attention to the role of planning in written task. To this end, the present paper tries to provide a theoretical background for task planning and report researchers’ findings concerned with written task planning. Based on the findings of other studies, it provides some recommendations for further research. In this case the article tries to uncover those aspects of written language planning that need more investigation.
