Abstract:
Every company during its business life should strive to select the most professional people for management positions with the aim of achieving a better competitive position on the domestic and international markets. When choosing management positions, it is necessary to apply certain criteria and respect the basic legal procedure through administrative bodies such as the company's assembly, the board of directors and the supervisory board. In this paper, the emphasis is on identifying the importance of applying criteria when electing women to management positions. The subject of this paper is to recognize the importance of applying criteria when appointing women to company management positions. The problem to be solved is to what degree of importance companies apply the criteria when choosing women to management positions in the Republic of Croatia. The research was conducted on 1,900 companies in the Republic of Croatia. Results of the research showed that the identified criteria are applied during the election of women to management processes in the Republic of Croatia, but in different degrees of importance.
