How integrated data changes real estate portfolio decisions: Shell’s property strategy case studies

Jaco Van Noppen

Corporate Real Estate Journal, 2017, vol. 7, issue 1, 15-22

Abstract: Shell is one of the world’s major oil companies and holds a large corporate portfolio of offices, accommodation and residential assets. An extensive portfolio requires daily decision making that is of great impact to the company’s operations. To make good and fast decisions, clear insights from accurate data are essential. This paper describes Royal Dutch Shell’s (RDS) journey to achieving this, and provides two examples where improved data and management reporting supported better decisions.
