Abstract:
The traditional focus on buildings has been on cost optimisation or maximising efficiency. With new digital solutions, however, buildings can start actively contributing to the revenue generation of an organisation by increasing productivity and fostering innovation at the workplace. In addition, due to the transformation of energy markets into enabling demand response solutions and offering remuneration to consumers of energy for providing demand flexibility, buildings can become generators of entirely new income streams for building owners.
