Abstract:
This paper explores the status of blockchain, which is also known as Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT). In this paper, ‘DLT’ will be used generically as a concept, encompassing all flavours and iterations of blockchain code and platforms. The authors examine the various ways different organisations are starting to explore and deploy DLT in the financial services industry. Moving on, this paper highlights how the technology will change, transform and improve business processes and the complexities that impact the speed at which DLT is adopted globally.
