Food for thought: How enterprise taxonomy powers search and creativity at America’s Test Kitchen

Ian Matzen

Journal of Digital Media Management, 2017, vol. 6, issue 2, 118-125

Abstract: America’s Test Kitchen, a Boston-based culinary media company, undertook an in-house enterprise taxonomy initiative that sought to bring order out of chaos. This case study reviews the methods and challenges encountered to create a user-centric taxonomy of food, and how the taxonomy was applied across the different stages of an asset’s life cycle to improve search and foster creativity.
