Mutual fund omnibus processing: A way to increase revenues and improve the client experience
Craig L. Kolzow
Journal of Securities Operations & Custody, 2010, vol. 3, issue 2, 111-121
Abstract:
Omnibus accounts can not only provide the broker-dealer with increased revenues but they also provide additional benefits. Omnibus accounts allow the broker-dealer to increase efficiency and productivity, while delivering a better client experience. A few issues remain unresolved with respect to omnibus accounts, but more firms believe that the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages. This paper explores the benefits of omnibus accounts in the USA and its territories, as well as the problems that need to be addressed to make working in an omnibus environment more efficient.
