Differences in the Development and Competitiveness of the Regions in Bulgaria in the Period 2000 – 2002

Abstract:
The study reveals the results of a study of the level of social-economic development of regions in the country for the period 2000 – 2002. The methodology used here includes double use of the taxonomic method: in determining generalizing measurers, characterizing different aspects of the development, and in determining an integral evaluation, characterizing the level of development of the regions. On this base an arrangement and grouping is made. Comparisons with previous periods are made. Studied are the sustainability in the development, potential and competitiveness of the regions in Bulgaria.
