Tendencies and Problems of the Bulgarian Energy Branch Development

Abstract: The paper has examined the tendencies and problems in the Bulgarian energy branch after 2000. The analysis concerns the process of liberalization as well as the state and development of the energy branch and its industries. The study distinguishes the priority industries in the energetic mixture of Bulgaria up to 2020, including in the selection the portfolio of renewable and alternative energetic sources. The comparisons with the Central and East European countries members of European Union reveal the process of retardation of the Bulgarian economy dynamics according to many energetic indicators and the necessity of significantly improvement the energetic management and of effective energetic strategy.
