Economic Studies journal, 2013, issue 1, 175-204

Abstract: This study represents an analysis of the problem of efficiency of the economic system, the theoretical advancement in the related field and the influence of the related economic activities over the overall effectiveness. Analysing has been emphasized the different processes involved in the service industry as part of the overall industry output, we can clearly see the trend indicating that the work results of the labour force involved in the industry correlates with the increase in effectiveness for the rest of the sectors, therefore we need to measure and evaluate the contribution of the labour force behind these processes. In practice, it is difficult to achieve maximum values for all performance related indicators in the service industry. Therefore, a number of the performance indicators were selected and used to evaluate the social-economical effectiveness. In this specific case, the work force productivity, maximum performance, factorial elasticity and also the effectiveness of the investments in long-term assets in the sector have been used.
