Abstract:
Factors that influence the inflation in Bulgaria have been analysed in detail and prospects have been outlined for overcoming the inflation challenge and the accession of the country to the Eurozone. Accession stages have been presented in brief, as well as the current level of satisfaction of the Maastriht criteria by Bulgaria. It has been indicated how Slovenia and Lithuania meet these criteria, which submitted official applications for membership in the Eurozone. Inflation factors that have influence in Bulgaria have been analysed. Prospects for Bulgaria to meet the inflation criterion and to become Eurozone member have been outlined.
