Abstract: Public institutions need to be aware of their employees need in more realistically towards keeping their human resources up-to-date. Managers need to pay special attention to core functions of human resource management through the employee capacity building as this plays an important role in the organization. The general objective of the study was to analyze the relationship between capacity building and employee retention. The study was anchored on knowledge Based Theory and theory of social exchange. The study adopted descriptive research design while the sample size was 74 employees. The study used questionnaire as data collection instruments and analyzed using inferential statistics.
