Abstract: This study investigates the efficacy of counselling services in addressing moral decadence among secondary school students in Ondo State, Nigeria, during periods of socio-economic and political stress. Moral decadence, characterized by declining ethical values and behaviors such as substance abuse, bullying, and disrespect for authority, poses significant challenges to the educational environment and student development. The research highlights the role of socio-economic and political stressors in exacerbating these issues and explores the potential of school-based counselling services to mitigate them. Utilizing a descriptive survey design, data were collected from a stratified random sample of 1,036 students across 50 secondary schools in Ondo State.
