Abstract:
The study examined birth order in relation to academic motivation among secondary school students in Lagos. Utilizing a cross-sectional survey design, data was collected from 430 students (mean=15.46, SD=1.53) across public and private schools. The Academic Motivation Scale (AMS-HS 28) was employed to measure motivation levels. Descriptive statistics revealed that nearly half of the students (45.6%) exhibited low levels of academic motivation.
