Abstract:
In today's education world, the growing prevalence of phishing attacks, especially those targeting mobile users via deceptive URLs, poses a significant threat to cybersecurity and individual privacy. Existing URL detection methods are largely manual, requiring users to copy and paste suspicious links into web-based checkers, which is an impractical and time-consuming solution during urgent situations. This research introduces Edu-SafeLink, an educational mobile-based application designed to simplify and automate the detection of malicious URLs using lexical text mining and the Random Forest algorithm. Targeting Malaysian educational users who are frequently targeted by phishing.
