Abstract:
This study presents a comprehensive 3Rs Curriculum Development Plan focused on strengthening foundational skills in Reading, Writing, and Arithmetic (3Rs) among Grades 1 to 6 pupils in Lanao del Sur. Anchored on the findings of a mixed-methods research study, the plan addresses significant learning gaps exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly in underserved regions. The curriculum emphasizes a spiral progression of skills tailored to each grade level, grounded in culturally responsive pedagogy and learner-centered strategies. It integrates differentiated instruction, real-world applications, and formative assessments aligned with national educational standards. Teaching methods include phonics drills, creative writing tasks, and hands-on math activities that respond to learners’ developmental stages and socio-cultural backgrounds. Additionally, themes such as Foundational Focus, Engagement through Creative Methods, and Real-World Application guide instructional design, ensuring relevance and accessibility. The plan also recommends targeted teacher training and community engagement to support curriculum implementation. Ultimately, this curriculum framework offers an evidence-based, context-sensitive approach aimed at reversing learning losses and fostering holistic development among elementary learners. It seeks to serve as a model for educational recovery and sustainable literacy-numeracy advancement in post-pandemic contexts.
