Abstract: Depression is a common mental illness characterized by continuous and long-term low mood. In recent years, with the increasing number of depression-related research, a growing body of research suggests that dysbiosis of the intestinal flora is associated with the development of depression. Probiotics can effectively improve intestinal flora disorders and repair gastrointestinal function, which is expected to become a new treatment for depression. This review summarizes the studies related to probiotics and depression.
