Abstract: People’s views diverge as to which economic priorities the ECB should focus on. After recalling the economic rationale of the ECB mandate, as well as the legal framework, this posts gives some insights into the reasons why its new strategy takes account of other considerations, such as climate change, in the way in which the ECB fulfils its mandate.

Les avis divergent quant aux priorités économiques sur lesquelles la BCE devrait se concentrer. Après avoir rappelé la logique économique du mandat de la BCE, ainsi que son cadre juridique, ce billet livre quelques réflexions sur les raisons pour lesquelles la nouvelle stratégie intègre d’autres aspects, tels que le changement climatique, dans la manière dont la BCE remplit son mandat.
