Abstract:
This textbook is an introductory material for carbon emission reduction management. Following a progressive and step-by-step logic, it elaborates on four dimensions: the necessity of implementing carbon emission reduction management, the sources of carbon emissions, management approaches, and the impacts of such management. It first introduces the facts and root causes of climate change, the importance of greenhouse gas emission reduction management and its theoretical foundations; second, it explains carbon emission accounting theories from the perspectives of production, consumption and income, as well as the priorities of carbon emission reduction management under each perspective; third, it focuses on the policy and technical measures for carbon emission reduction management, including both command-and-control administrative instruments and market-based policies such as carbon tax and carbon trading; finally, it presents the socio-economic impacts of carbon emission reduction management and the pathway design for achieving carbon neutrality.
