The dynamics of documentation

Abstract:
The speed with which documents must be processed is emphasized and the factors leading up to some of the major changes that have taken place in reporting on scientific and engineering research are reviewed. The relationship between the use of books and documents is discussed. Objectives towards which the American Documentation Institute might be directed are offered.
