Abstract:
With the end of the Cold War, the focus of policy studies about Latin America have begun to change. Latin American banana politics are a good example. The history of the banana trade supports the general observations of policy mavens developed over the years about the internationalization of monopolies, the manipulation of markets, and the restriction of competition.
