Abstract:
The medage command calculates the linear interpolated median age from population data aggregated into 5-year age intervals (e.g., 0-4, 5-9, etc.). While Stata provides robust tools for individual-level data, demographers working with binned census data or population projections often have to manually implement interpolation formulas.
