Italian Stata Conference 2026 from Stata Users Group

Abstract: I turn to a development few applied researchers can now choose to ignore: the arrival of AI coding agents in the empirical workflow. Data cleaning, model estimation, visualization, and replication are all tasks increasingly open to delegation. In this presentation, I discuss where these tools genuinely help, where they mislead, and what their use implies for the reliability and reproducibility of published research.
