HEALTH ECONOMICS IN THE POST-COVID-19 ERA

Abstract: The Covid-19 phenomenon is exceptional and extraordinary. So much so, that the relevance of the insights we’ve gained over the years in economics in general, and in the area of health economics in particular, for understanding this phenomenon is especially small. Moreover, at this point in time there is a considerable lack of clarity regarding the various and important aspects of the pandemic, so that it is too early to express an opinion on the correct method of dealing with it. However, in contrast, I am of the opinion that it is possible and necessary to discuss the changes expected in the world of medicine and health management in the post-Covid-19 era. One of the most significant changes is the tremendous growth expected in “remote medicine”, which alongside its numerous advantages incorporates numerous risks, both healthrelated and economic
