Abstract: Many cooperatives have developed from small-scale cooperative ventures to larger firms which are now parts of global firms. The economic structures under which such cooper­atives operate are heterogeneous. The attempt of this article is to systematize the basic group and holding structures as well as to outline the existing holding structures.
