Abstract:
The new cooperatives we have called the "cooperative of the 2000s" contributed to keep the number of cooperatives in Germany stable. During the wave of new foundations, cooperative models that functioned as role models were imitated in large numbers. At the same time, completely new models have emerged, far off from traditional fields of activity. Both developments make a significant contribution to the sustainability of the foundation scene. Nevertheless, it is important to continue to develop new cooperative models, to test them in practice and to promote them. The imminent restructuration of the economy following the crises caused by the Corona pandemic and the Ukraine war offers new opportunities for the cooperative idea.
