Abstract: In cooperative practice, questions have recently been asked more frequently about the obligation of registered cooperatives about additional payment liability. There are various provisions in the "Genossenschaftsgesetz" (GenG) relating to the additional payment liability1, some of which can be confusing for those who are not familiar with them.2 For this reason, the following is an overview of the most important regulations in the GenG, especially those concerning the introduction of a limited obligation to make additional contributions or the complete exclusion of the additional payment liability and the reduction of the liability amount.
