Abstract:
This working paper reports on independent research funded by a Leverhulme Major Fellowship, with additional support for travel to Ghana provided by Cocoa Life. The findings and views reported here are solely the responsibility of the authors, and do not represent the views or policies of Cocoa Life or Mondelez International. Research was carried out between June and November (with fieldwork in Ghana in July) 2014 and the findings relate to this period only. We would like to thank the Cocoa Life team and all those interviewed, including representatives from government, industry, civil society and cocoa farmers, for their time and information provided. All interpretation and shortcomings are the responsibility of the authors alone.
