Abstract:
Based on an empirical study of four enterprises with a network type of organisational structure, this article explains the configurations of control (nature and variables) in the coordination of relevant parties. Following a review of the literature on stategic network, the investigations of control systems in place are conceptually linked to agency theory. The results show that two control configurations are associated with the two types of strategic network identified.
