Les systèmes d'indicateurs de performance environnementale (IPE), entre communication et contrôle

Abstract:
The necessity of the representation of a companies environmental performance and of an associated environmental management control, leads corporate managers to make choices in interaction with external actors in a context of quest for legitimacy. These choices result in the use of environmental performance indicators (EPI) in two ways, an external use of global environmental communication, and an internal use of local environmental performance control : therefore, two systems of representation of the environmental performance. Looking for these two systems from the same indicators seems problematical (according to the study of the perceptions of theses tools in two French chemical groups).
