Economie & Prévision, 2009, vol. n° 189, issue 3, 57-74
Abstract:
This article studies the long-term relationship between labor productivity growth and unemployment. Measures ofco-movements in the frequency domain indicate that the relationship is strongly negative for the seven countries studied :United States, Canada, Japan, United Kingdom, France, Italy, and Germany. We show this empirical relationship to beconsistent with an efficiency wage model.
