Abstract:
The objective of this study is to carry out an economic analysis of the attractiveness of American Pentecostalism in Cameroon. The analysis focuses on a sample of 1548 individuals living in Yaoundé and Douala cities, provided by a field survey. Inspired by theoretical and empirical literature, particularly in economics and sociology, the econometric results, obtained by using a multinomial logit model, reveal that the attractiveness of American Pentecostalism in Cameroon is further explained by the strong physical, financial and spiritual assistance available in the Pentecostal religious communities. Codes JEL: D10, D23, D60, Z12.
