Migrations & développement en Asie de l’Est et sur le bassin méditerranéen

Sandra Palméro and René Teboulb

Géographie, économie, société, 2004, vol. 6, issue 1, 43-66

Abstract: The analysis of migratory flows enables us to better understand if their acceleration is favorable or not to the process of development and economic growth. Comparative study which we carry out demonstrates clearly (i) that for Eastern Asia, migratory flows accompany a process of dynamic regionalization improving the general conditions of the development of the poorest countries and (ii) that in the opposite, on the Mediterranean basin, the disorder of these flows, their unilateral character, generally constitute a handicap.
