Abstract:
The purpose of this paper is to explore whether proximity has a direct influence on institutional work, using the theoretical framework of the economics of proximity. Indeed, the literature on institutional work has shown little interest in spatial issues. The case study focuses on an existing network, the Slow Food, which enables us to study in depth an existing case of organized proximity. The main findings of this study confirm the role of geographical and organized proximity in institutional work. This paper offers a conceptual framework to measure the outcomes of institutional work depending on the combination of proximity models.
