Abstract:
The city of Sidi Ifni in Morocco is a typical example of the extraordinary complexity of the links between heritage, territory, memory, identity and politics and where heritage is unfairly held hostage to the different conflicting interests of several actors; some approaches place these conflicts of interest at the heart of the heritage issue. Through this article we want to show that the territorial approach to heritage is not the only basis for the process of creating heritage, there is also the political and geopolitical approach which considers heritage as a political and geopolitical instrument.
