Abstract: How can we explain that economics, characterised by an impressive logic and by unquestionable progresses, is also marked by more theoretical inability and self-limitation and that in the same time, the power of economists and the scope of the economist speech are gaining in importance ? With the notions of legality, legitimacy, certainty, science, opinion, we briefly show that power uses uncertainty facing the opinion and that the role played by experts between politicians and the opinion is essential to the management of this uncertainty. We also demonstrate that this self limitation of economics (its self destruction) is related to the triumph of the expert economics. The economist, in his own work, has to deconstruct the economic reality proposed by experts, and to deconstruct the model meant for the politic body; it is part of its status and of its scientist's contract.
